You will never be given a challenge or crisis that you can’t handle, though while in the midst of it, it can feel overwhelming and lead you to negative or depressing thoughts. During times like this, remember that our challenges always have a purpose. They are helping us grow, assisting us in finding our hidden power, and eventually will reveal to us valuable gifts about ourselves and the world around us that we are currently blind to.
The best way to cope with your challenges in the moment is to keep asking yourself, “What am I getting out of this (besides pain and frustration)?” “Am I seeing how much people care?” “Am I learning new things about myself that I didn’t know?” “Am I developing compassion and/or understanding others in new ways?” “Am I meeting people, learning things, or doing things that I would never have, had I not had this challenge in my life?”
There is a divine order and a purpose for everything that is happening in your life. The deeper you look, and the more you take the time to do so, the easier it will be for you to let go of the mindset that your challenge is “the worst thing ever.” Just as calm weather exists in the eye of a cyclone, so also can you experience peace and balance by looking for the hidden blessings.
