IF NOTHING ELSE, PLEASE YOURSELF: No matter what you do or don’t do in your life, someone will be unhappy with your choices. I guarantee it. While there always are complexities around actually making the choices that you want, keep in mind that you are not here to make anyone happy except yourself. You are not here to sacrifice your freedom for others. You are not here to live by someone else’s standards. You are here to be real. You are here to claim your time, energy, and choices as your own. You are here to find what works for you, not others.
Plus, very often you’ll find when all is said and done, in instances when you did go out of your way to do something for someone, they said it wasn’t quite enough, or wasn’t done in exactly the way they wanted. So you both lose. Make it a part of your life plan to work towards making choices that lead you to being real. Your life depends on it.
