EMBRACE PROCRASTINATION: Have you ever noticed that when you have a deadline and “have to” get something done, you somehow get it done, even if you’ve been procrastinating on it for some time? It’s interesting, isn’t it, that when we have to, we always find a way to make a hard deadline, and the closer it is, the more focused, creative, productive, and efficient we become.
So what can you learn from this? To give yourself FULL permission to do what you want to do in the moment (since you always get what you “have to do” done anyway). When you are in the moment, doing what you are doing, but simultaneously beating yourself for not doing what you think you “should” be doing, you split your energy, create drag, and dampen your spirit. It’s counter-productive! When you give yourself up to the moment, no matter what you are doing, you become alive, focused, and inspired, creating an awesome state of mind to be in.
Here is your new affirmation for when you are judging yourself to be “unproductive”: “I always get done what I need to get done when the time is right. I am in the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing.”
