Life is not easy, and that makes it hard to be grateful sometimes. We have challenges and complexities that seem to last ‘forever’ yet wishing them away doesn’t not make them magically go away. The degree to which you wish your challenges will go away is directly proportional to the degree to which you will feel challenged.
To get out of this mindset, look for how your challenges are helping you grow. Are you learning patience, compassion, new ways to operate, letting go of judgments of self and others, making better choices, or seeking out new support that’s helpful? You’re becoming a better version of yourself daily, and are becoming stronger because of your challenges. It’s not natural or easy to look for what’s good, but it really is the path that will benefit you the most.
